Are Trump's Days of Special Treatment on Twitter Numbered?

Graham, Jefferson. "Are Trump's Days of Special Treatment on Twitter Numbered? Post Presidency, He'll Be Just Another User." USA TODAY. Last modified November 6, 2020. https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2020/11/06/twitter-wont-give-trump-special-treatment-post-presidency/6181794002/.

According to the USA TODAY Donald Trump has been allowed to use Twitter to share everything he wanted without much limitation. In November 2020, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said, but "if an account is not a world leader anymore, that particular policy goes away." So, Donald Trump’s Twitter feed will be very different after presidency.  Twitter has earlier mentioned that Donald Trump violated their Twitter policies, and has been accused of hate speech and advocating violence. Twitter has already labeled a number of his tweets. Post presidency, this is expected to change whereby his account could be frozen or even banned from Twitter.

Twitter says that their function is providing a place where users can openly and publicly respond to their leaders. Twitter said this could be the reason why even after labeling some tweets as in violation of their policies, it is still available to the users. The topic of Twitter function has been questioned many times, especially because of how they define themselves as a place where people are allowed to openly and publicly respond to their leaders. The issue has been with labeling of content and hiding it from user's feeds. Some people have felt that Twitter does not give them a platform to engage with leaders freely. The freedom of speech is limited.
