Blake’s article exposes the hypocritical behavior of political leaders by analyzing some of Donald Trump’s old tweets. The article shows that most political leaders are willing to say or do anything just to gain political leverage. In the article, Blake reports that Donald Trump had a tendency to criticize President Obama’s leadership, often terming it as weak and ineffective. For instance, when Obama threatened to attack Syria in response to its use of chemical weapons against its own civilians, Donald Trump was quick at dissuading him from such a move. In fact, according to Trump back then, the president was supposed to get the Congressional approval before implementing his threats. Nonetheless, when Donald Trump became the president of the US, he did the exact opposite of what he formerly complained about his predecessor. Trump decided to attack Syria even without Congressional approval. Such actions show the highest level of hypocrisy on the leader’s part.
