Donald Trump Did Not Use Emotional Tone As The Public Expected

Thomsen’s article captures the reaction of many Americans on Twitter after Donald Trump was allegedly reported to have brought a handwritten note card to a listening session with the shooting survivors in the White House. While some online users, perhaps his supporters, questioned the validity of the photo showing that he was holding the note during the events, others were quick to criticize the president’s conduct and lack of empathy, while others just poked fun out of the situation. Although the authenticity of the photo was not verified, that particular incident outraged many Americans. One quality that a president ought to possess is the ability to perceive and relate to the feelings of other people. However, judging from the photo, Trump was clearly demonstrating that he is not sensitive to the emotional needs of people during their difficult times. All he needed to do was just to listen and give the afflicted families hope for a better tomorrow.
