Donald Trump Focused His Campaigns on Two Things; The Media and His Opponents

Garcia, M. (2016). The 2016 Republican primary campaign on twitter: issues and ideological positioning for the profiles of Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Donald Trump. Retrieved from file:///C:/Users/AppData/Local/Packages/Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe/TempState/Downloads/Primary%20campaign.pdf

The author looks into the increased use of social networking sites for political communication and the change in the relationship between the voters and the political class. The author has analysed the content of the tweets of four candidates; Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, and Donald Trump. Among the four, the results of the research indicate that Donald Trump is the only candidate who touched on fewer campaign issues. The author further enlightens the readers on the fact that Donald Trump focused his campaigns on two things; the media and his opponents. Instead of addressing key national issues, his campaign was focussed on getting back at his critics on twitter. The candidate’s use of twitter is explored and Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, and Marco Rubio are seen to have focused most of their tweets on the campaign itself and request for support from the followers unlike Donald Trump who did the exact opposite.

Good Karma for those who comment...
