Staff, V. (2017, November 8). New data shows engagement over trump’s tweets and more since he was elected. Variety. Retrieved from https://variety.com/2017/politics/news/data-trump-twitter-engagement-1202610292/

In this article, the authors report about a shift in the pattern of Donald Trump’s tweeting behavior since he was sworn into office as the president of the United States. According to the authors, Trump’s preferred medium of communication is Twitter. To the astonishment of many people, Donald did not desist from using the platform even after he was elected. Nonetheless, during his first year in office, his social media habits have somewhat changed. The authors note that Trump’s tweets experienced a decline in the overall user engagement level during the first few months that followed the inauguration. However, the engagement rates would then increase dramatically during events. For instance, the #TakeAKnee debate during September generated high rates of engagement in terms of likes and retweets. This article is useful because it provides valuable insights into Donald Trump’s tweeting patterns since he became president. Although he still uses Twitter, his online activity has declined sharply and most of his tweets do not generate high engagements rates as they used to before.
