This article addresses an issue that was brought about by a tweet from McDonald’s Twitter account which was directed at President Donald Trump in a negative way. The tweet read: “@realDonaldTrump You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back, also you have tiny hands.”Shockingly, President Trump dii not respond to the tweet because it could have caused damage to McDonald’s brand in the market, however, the brand deleted the tweet and issued a statement saying that the Twitter account was hacked. “Based on our investigation, we have determined that our Twitter account was hacked by an external source.” Furthermore, the tweet’s deletion came after a number of people had copied and shared it while different views were aired. “The tweet, which was copied and shared widely before being deleted…” On one hand we have those suggesting that President Trump’s supporters would boycott the chain while others praised the fast-food chain.
