Trump Insisted That He Had Actually Won the Elections in His Tweets

Richardson, H. (2020, December 11). A breathtaking assault on American principles.             BillMoyers.com. https://billmoyers.com/story/trump-tweets-overturn/

According to the author, Covid-19 deaths has remained to be the biggest issue as people continue to lose their neighbors. Comparing it to the 9-11 attack, the author says that the total deaths in 2001 was 2977 while Covid-19 took 3,140 deaths. This was the highest single-day death toll. The author says that Trump was launching a new approach in an attempt to steal the 2020 election while the country continued to suffer due to Covid-19. In his tweets, Trump insisted that he had actually won the elections but on December 9 2020, he tweeted "OVERTURN." Even the Republican leaders were in support of Trump, saying that he had the right to challenge an election through legal means. Trump and his supporters wanted the Court’s permission to file a case against Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin and have the votes cast invalidated. Legal experts said that the case would not hold. So, the Republicans were attacking the court because their case would be slammed.
