The President took to his Twitter handle saying that a woman who fled the US to become an extremist for the Islamic State group will not be allowed to return. He added and said that he had instructed Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo not to allow Hoda Muthana back into the country. According to Finnegan, President Trump recently told the UK and other European countries to take back and put on trial Islamic State fighters captured in the final battle against the group.
In a statement by Mike Pompeo, he said, “She is not a U.S. citizen and will not be admitted into the United States. She does not possess any legal document that shows she is an American citizen or any travel history to America.” Finnegan states that Hoda Muthana told ABC News she felt shame hearing the tweets she posted when she was part of ISIS and wants to return to the U.S. with her 18-month-old son, who was born under the terror group.
