Trump's 11th-Hour Pardons Keep with Tradition
Liptak, Kevin. "Trump's 11th-hour Pardons Keep with Tradition, Even if Those Pardoned Do Not." CNN. Last modified January 18, 2021. https://edition.cnn.com/2021/01/18/politics/donald-trump-eleventh-hour-pardons/index.html.
Before leaving office, Donald Trump is preparing to issue about 100 pardons and commutations. CNN says that the list as it is now does not include Trump himself.[1] Donald Trump had issued a number of commutations before 2020 Christmas but put a pause on them days leading to the Electoral College count. The list of pardons was expected to include a mix of criminal justice reform minded pardons as well as more controversial ones. According to CNN many of the people in the list of pardons fall along predictable lines.
