Trump's Message Is Still Reaching the Public Even Without Twitter and Facebook
Klein, R., Harper, A., & Wiersema, A. (2021, May 3). Trump keeps winning rounds in GOP's Civil War: The note. ABC News. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-winning-rounds-gops-civil-war-note/story?id=77451029
According to the author, Trump's message has been reaching the public just fine even without Twitter and Facebook. The former president also continues to rack up wins inside the Republican Party. Liz Cheney was recently forced to defend her position in House leadership but has fewer voices backing her. The author states that Cheney’s latest fist bump with Biden only added to the efforts to bring her another no-confidence vote. Early May House elections in Texas had a Trump-endorsed candidate top for a runoff. The only anti-Trump candidate in the elections finished 9th and garnered barely 2,500 votes. Same day in Utah Republican senator Mitt Romney, who voted twice to impeach Trump was jeered at his home state party convention. Romney was jeered as he tried to explain the differences between his policies and Biden's. By standing against Trump, he has lost his grip of the public and does any other Republican who opposes Trump according to the trend since January.
