This Yahoo article addresses the issue of Twitter allowing the Taliban to spread news about the takeover of the country even as Donald Trump remains permanently banned from the platform. An account owned by the Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, with 287k followers tweets updates on the Taliban seizure of the country saying that it has been a peaceful process which is contrary to reports on the ground. According to the author, the ban prevents former president Trump from interacting with his followers. Mujahid is not the only Taliban on Twitter, Qari Yousef Ahmadi is another user with 60k followers and has been sharing tweets regularly. In response to a question about the Taliban being allowed to push their agenda via the platform, Twitter said that the company have been proactively removing content in violation of their policy, however, it never addressed the issue of the Taliban and Donald Trump’s ban.
