The first official government account for US president was created during Barack Obama’s reign. In 2016, when Donald Trump took over, he inherited all followers from Obama’s accounts @POTUS and @WhiteHouse. However, this is about to change now as Joe Biden is expected to inherited the account with zero follower. On 23rd December 2020, BBC reported that Twitter informed them that right now the Biden administration will have to build their accounts from zero. Although Donald Trump had the official account, he used his personal account more. He used for both personal and official business. As of December 23rd 2020, Joe Biden’s account @JoeBiden had 21.7 million followers.
