Ask.fm is a social network on mobile devices and the Web that permits users to ask questions to friends or other people using the service.

Ask.fm is an online social media website based on the asking and answering of questions between users who follow each other.

HOW THEY WORK?

Ask.fm is used to ask any questions on topics such food, religion, travel, politics, books, and pop culture. To be a part of Ask.fm you need to create an account with the site. This is how you do it:

1. Sign up for a free Ask.fm account, by filling out your information

2. Include hashtags to your profile to connect with other users

4. Connect with other users by following them. Others will also follow you.

5. you can start to ask questions. This can be done anonymously or publicly.

6. you can also answer questions your followers have asked.

HISTORY:

On June 16th 2010, Ask.fm was launched as a rival to Formspring.

In 2013, ASKf.m reached 65 million registered users.

In August 2014, the site was purchased by IAC, who also owns Ask.com.

In 2016, IAC sold Ask.fm to Noosphere, a California-based asset management firm

In 2017, Ask.fm had a total of 215 million registered users.

In 2017, Ask.fm introduced three new features such as Photo Polls, Shoutouts, and Discover.

In 2017, Ask.fm partnered with Koko, to try and address the phenomenon bullying using AI.

In 2018, Ask.fm teamed up with the UK charity.

In 2018, the site launched the idea of Ask.fm 2.0. to be a blockchain-based social network

In 2018, the platform created its in-app currency coins and a separate Versus feed for photo polls.

In 2019, Ask.fm released Leaderboards, the feature that shows the most active users on the platform and Tipping.

You can see frequently asked questions on safety including topics such as blocking, reporting abuse and other safety-related issues. The site has developed an easy way for users to report abuse. Ask.fm has also made available safety resources for teens, parents, educators and law enforcement.
